The dot-winged antwren (Microrhopias quixensis) or velvety antwren is a passerine bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is found in Mexico, every Central American country except El Salvador, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. == Taxonomy and systematics == The dot-winged antwren is the only member of genus Microrhopias, which was erected by the English zoologist Philip Sclater in 1862.
