Photo © Philipp Steidle — CC BY 4.0 — Source: iNaturalist photo #555829595El semillero variable, espiguero variable o semillero corvino (Sporophila corvina), también denominado semillerito aurito, es una especie de ave paseriforme de la familia Thraupidae perteneciente al numeroso género Sporophila. Es nativo de México, América Central y del noroeste de América del Sur. Su taxonomía es confusa, y fue considerada una subespecie de Sporophila americana. Incluso dentro de la especie tal cual es definida actualmente, hay variaciones significativas en el plumaje entre las poblaciones y algunos autores sostienen que el grupo de subespecies S. corvina ophthalmica se trata de una especie separada.
