Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Welcome to Wild Atlas Guide. By accessing or using wildatlasguide.com (the "Platform") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before using our services.
1. Who we are
Wild Atlas Guide is a wildlife discovery and eco-tourism platform. Our goal is to connect nature enthusiasts with wildlife destinations, photography hides, guided experiences and community knowledge worldwide. Contact us at hello@wildatlasguide.com.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account on Wild Atlas Guide. By registering, you accept these Terms and confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are used for abusive, fraudulent or illegal purposes.
3. User-generated content
3.1 What you can post
Wild Atlas Guide allows registered users to submit Observation Lists (species sightings with notes and photos), My Lists (personal species collections), reviews and ratings of nature hotspots, and profile information including an avatar.
3.2 Your ownership
You retain copyright in any original content you create and upload, including photographs. Posting content to Wild Atlas Guide does not transfer ownership to us.
3.3 Licence you grant us
By submitting content to Wild Atlas Guide, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, reproduce and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the Platform. The photo-specific permission shown when you upload a community photo controls its attribution, use in our own social channels and withdrawal options. We will not sell or license your content to third parties without your explicit consent.
3.4 Content standards
You agree that content you submit will:
- Be accurate to the best of your knowledge (species IDs, locations, dates).
- Not infringe the copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Not be defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening or unlawful.
- Not contain spam, commercial solicitations unrelated to Wild Atlas Guide, or malicious code.
- Not include personal data of other individuals without their consent.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards without prior notice.
3.5 Photo rights
You may only upload photographs that you took yourself or for which you hold the necessary rights. Do not upload photos taken from other websites, social media, or photo libraries without a licence that permits such use.
4. Reviews and ratings
Reviews must reflect your genuine personal experience. Do not write fake reviews, submit reviews of places you have not visited, or post reviews on behalf of a business or competitor. We may remove reviews that violate these guidelines. We do not remove negative reviews solely because a business requests it.
Business owners may submit a professional, factual response to reviews of their own hotspot or operation.
5. Nature hotspot listings
Hotspot and operator information on Wild Atlas Guide is provided for informational purposes. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that all details (opening hours, prices, access conditions, species presence) are current. Always verify critical information directly with the site owner or operator before visiting.
Visiting natural areas may involve inherent risks (terrain, wildlife, weather). You are responsible for your own safety and for complying with local regulations at any destination you visit.
6. Booking requests
Where available, Wild Atlas Guide allows you to submit booking requests for photography hides and guided experiences. A booking request is a request — it is not a confirmed booking until the business explicitly accepts it.
- Payment — Some businesses accept online payment through a connected payment-provider account; others arrange payment directly. When online payment is available, the business is the merchant of record and the payment provider processes the funds. Wild Atlas Guide facilitates the technical flow but does not hold customer funds.
- Authorisation — A temporary payment authorisation may be placed when a request is sent. It is captured only if the business accepts within the stated period; otherwise it is released.
- Cancellations and refunds — The cancellation policy displayed for the product and booking forms part of the booking conditions. Refunds are handled under that policy and the applicable payment-provider rules.
- Accuracy of requests — You are responsible for providing accurate information (dates, group size, contact details) in your booking request.
The contract for the booked activity is between the traveller and the business providing it. Wild Atlas Guide supplies discovery, communication, booking and, where enabled, payment-orchestration tools; it does not provide the activity itself.
7. Business listings and operators
Businesses that claim or manage listings on Wild Atlas Guide agree that all information they provide is accurate and up to date, that they hold all necessary licences and permits to operate, and that they will not post fake reviews or manipulate the rating system. We reserve the right to remove listings or suspend business accounts that engage in deceptive practices.
8. Intellectual property and data use
Wild Atlas Guide and its licensors own or control the original elements of the Platform, including the Wild Atlas Guide name and logos, source code, interface and visual design, editorial text, original maps and graphics, selection, organisation and presentation of the catalogue, and the verified relationships between wildlife, places, seasons and experiences.
Wildlife facts themselves may come from public or licensed sources and remain subject to the rights and licences that apply to those sources. Third-party and community photographs remain the property of their authors and are displayed with the applicable credit and licence. Nothing in these Terms claims ownership of a contributor’s original photograph or of material that belongs to another rights holder.
You may browse the Platform and share direct links for lawful personal use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, train a model on, systematically extract, scrape, harvest or reuse a substantial part of Wild Atlas Guide’s original content or data compilation — whether through automated tools or manual collection — without our prior written permission.
We may use technical measures, request limits and access controls to protect the Platform, its community and its data. If you need data for research, conservation, editorial or commercial work, contact us first at hello@wildatlasguide.com.
Species photographs sourced from iNaturalist, Wikimedia Commons or other licensed sources are displayed with attribution to the original photographer or source and a link to the applicable licence where available. If you believe a work has been attributed or used incorrectly, please contact us.
Wildlife occurrence information may include records supplied through the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Wild Atlas Guide preserves the applicable dataset licences and cites the DOI of each GBIF download in its public data-source record, so the contributing publishers remain attributable.
9. Prohibited uses
- Automate requests (bots, scrapers, bulk downloaders or model-training crawlers) without our express written permission.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its servers.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or to other users' accounts.
- Post content that promotes illegal wildlife trade, poaching, or harm to wildlife.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a business.
- Use the Platform to distribute spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Wild Atlas Guide is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any content (including user-generated content, business listings, or species information) is accurate, complete or reliable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wild Atlas Guide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or any experience booked through it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable EU consumer protection law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and applicable EU member-state law, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be dated and communicated where required. If a change needs renewed agreement, we will request it explicitly instead of treating silence or mere browsing as acceptance.
