Se encuentra principalmente en los bosques y matorrales húmedos de regiones montañosas. Se alimenta de insectos que busca en pequeñas bandadas por el suelo del bosque, entre la hojarasca. Son difíciles de observar pero pueden localizarse por sus característicos cantos.
