Eslovenia
Slovenia is a remarkably rich wildlife destination at the meeting point of the Alps, the Dinaric Mountains, the Mediterranean and the Pannonian Basin. Extensive forests, limestone karst, alpine valleys, wetlands and traditional rural landscapes support an exceptional diversity of European wildlife. The vast forests of southern Slovenia are particularly renowned for their brown bears and also support wolves and Eurasian lynx, while the mountains hold chamois, ibex and iconic alpine birds. Wetlands and karst landscapes add another dimension, making Slovenia one of Europe’s most varied wildlife destinations for its size.
