Gudalupe Lodge - Reserva de Biosfera del Manu
Guadalupe Lodge, Wild Watch Peru's own lodge, is an excellent base for birdwatching in the Manu foothills, at around 560 m above sea level, where the birds of the Andes meet those of the lowland jungle. Around the lodge there is bamboo forest (pacal) with specialists such as the white-cheeked spadebill, the bamboo antshrike and the Manu antbird, as well as foothill forest with mixed tanager flocks. Very close by there is a white-eyed parakeet clay lick, hummingbird gardens and trails where nightjars can be seen at dusk. At dawn, the birdsong can be heard from the rooms themselves. After every field outing, the lodge offers electricity and hot water 24 hours a day, wifi and rooms with private bathrooms.
