The Chambal River Safari – Our Journey of Discovery and Conservation
For us, a Chambal River Safari is much more than a wildlife excursion; it is a journey into one of India’s most pristine and extraordinary river ecosystems, and a legacy we are immensely proud of. As we glide along its tranquil waters, past dramatic ravines and golden sandbanks, we encounter an astonishing diversity of wildlife – endangered Gharials, Mugger Crocodiles, the rare Gangetic River Dolphin, freshwater turtles and an incredible variety of resident and migratory birds, including the spectacular Indian Skimmer.
Our journey began in 1999, when we pioneered river safaris at a time when hardly anyone had heard of Chambal as a wildlife destination. We saw the extraordinary ecological importance of this landscape and wanted to share its wonders with the world. Over the years, through our sustained efforts, passion and commitment, we have helped put Chambal on India’s wildlife tourism map, raised awareness about its remarkable biodiversity and championed the protection of its fragile ecosystem.
Today, it gives us immense satisfaction to see visitors from across the world discover and appreciate this extraordinary wilderness. For us, every safari is an opportunity not only to share the magic of Chambal but also to reinforce the importance of conserving its unique natural heritage for generations to come.
