Mongolia is one of the world’s last truly wild frontiers, a vast land of untouched landscapes where nature still follows ancient rhythms. Mongolia also plays a vital role in the conservation of Przewalski’s Horse, the world’s only truly wild horse, successfully reintroduced into several protected areas after becoming extinct in the wild.

Mongolia is equally impressive for birdwatchers. Its wetlands and lakes lie along major migratory flyways, attracting thousands of waterbirds each spring and autumn, while the mountains and cliffs provide breeding habitat for some of the world’s most spectacular raptors. Visitors can encounter species such as the Golden Eagle, Saker Falcon, Bearded Vulture, Cinereous Vulture, Demoiselle Crane, Altai Snowcock and the impressive Black-billed Capercaillie, among many others. With relatively few visitors compared to other wildlife destinations, Mongolia offers a rare sense of exploration where unforgettable encounters often take place without another person in sight.
