Birding in Portugal
With over 40 years experience as both a Birding Guide and running his own lakeside, mosquito-free, Eco-Lodge, Frank's place, "Paradise in Portugal" has gained plaudits from around the world, for the Guided Birding, the service, the food, sleep quality, peace and quiet and full-on Nature experience, and in 2026 it won Tripadvisor's "Best of the Best" for the 3rd year running.
With group sizes kept to 6, everyone gets to see their chosen species in beautiful countryside away from the madding crowds and in good light.
Moreover, as a professional photographer as well as a Guide, Frank shares the pictures he takes while out on any Guided Trip so that you always have a record of the birds you've seen - but it's not just about the birds, for he's lived in southern Portugal since the '80s and what he doesn't know about the area isn't worth knowing, from birds to butterflies, from reptiles to mammals to flora to history and everything in between.
