Where granite gorges slice through the Ural Mountains and pristine taiga stretches endlessly across the northern horizon, one of Europe's last true wilderness preserves reveals itself in raw majesty. This vast expanse of 53,710 square kilometres encompasses a breathtaking mosaic of ecosystems: dense boreal forests give way to alpine tundra, crystalline rivers carve through ancient rock, and untouched wetlands sprawl across remote valleys. The landscape pulses with ecological integrity rarely found at such scale, where permafrost influences the terrain and centuries-old Siberian spruce tower above carpets of lichen and moss.

Golden eagles command the peaks whilst wolverines and brown bears patrol the forest floor in relative safety from human pressure.
