Manusela National Park

Across the Maluku Tengah district of Indonesia's eastern archipelago, a sprawling expanse of 4,175 square kilometers of largely intact tropical forest rises from coastal lowlands toward the spine of the Manusela Mountains, where mist-laden ridges pierce clouds at over 3,000 meters. This National Park encompasses a mosaic of habitats—lowland rainforest dense with buttressed trees, montane cloud forest wreathed in perpetual dampness, and transitional zones where forest gives way to alpine scrub—each layer supporting its own distinct wildlife communities.
