NamibRand Nature Reserve

Where rust-coloured dunes surrender to sculpted granite outcrops and vast plains stretch toward an endless horizon, one of southern Africa's most pristine wilderness areas unfolds. The NamibRand spans 220,000 hectares of remarkably diverse terrain, from the towering sand seas that characterise the Namib Desert to acacia-dotted grasslands and rocky kopjes. This ecological mosaic supports an astonishing array of adapted species, from the desert-dwelling oryx and springbok to nocturnal predators perfectly evolved for arid extremes.
