Parque del Centenario
Centennial Park is a green space located within the city of Algeciras, next to the Strait of Gibraltar. Despite being in an urban setting, it features Mediterranean vegetation, cliffs, and sea views, making it an interesting spot for observing coastal wildlife and enjoying nature.
Among the species that can be observed are yellow-legged gulls, wading birds, cormorants, and occasionally the martín pescador. During migrations it's also possible to see seabirds and raptors crossing the strait between Europe and Africa.
Spring and autumn are especially rewarding for the migratory passage of numerous birds. In winter you can also observe coastal birds and cormorants. Early morning hours can be good for birdwatching, although weather conditions and tides also influence wildlife activity.
